We take great pride in the vehicles in our fleet. There are more than 20 of them, ranging from small vans to articulated lorries, chosen to ensure we always have the right ‘tool’ for the job, and to allow us to be as flexible and efficient as possible.
The fleet has grown at a measured pace, always with a view to being sure that growth was sustainable. Having added vehicles to reach an optimum size, we now operate a policy of continuous replacement, so even though half of the fleet is less than three years old, a new vehicle will be added every year to replace one of the older ones. It’s a policy that underwrites our reliability; newer vehicles are less likely to suffer mechanical breakdowns.
All our UK road haulage vehicles are fitted with tracking devices, so we know where they are all the time. Having that information not only allows us to keep customers up to date with progress of their deliveries, but also offers a safety net for our team of dedicated experienced drivers in the event of illness or injury.
Every vehicle is cleaned every week, because when they turn up at a destination looking smart, not only does JMS look smart and professional, so do our customers for choosing a haulier that cares about reputation.
